"Kaka! Kaka! Are you here! Come on! Answer!" yelled a voice, sending the small birds flying into the air. The ground shook as the figure walked into the clearing that gave way to a cliff, which looked out onto the forest below.
The lizard type eyes scan the area, he could smell her, but he couldn’t see her. " I know you’re here.. Come out would you?" he asked. " No need to shout… I can hear just find Scar" came a voice from behind him. Turning he scanned the area, then looked away.
" For the love of the gods, why do you have to do that? You know it bugs everyone.. Me mostly." He said as a hand reached over the rock and took the clothes that were piled there.
" Most efficient way to feel the energy from the sun, besides.. My clothes are hardly anything anyway." She said as she slipped on her clothes, and soon stood up from behind the large rock. Adjusting the belt around her white-scaled waist. The clothes, if you could call them that. Was a piece of cloth, cut just enough to cover her, and to keep her out of trouble with the village, even if they didn’t care for her particular style.
" Which doesn’t help the case any, you mind at least folding your wings around yourself, you look like a.."
" Say it and I rip out your heart, both of them.." she replied as she folded her wings over herself, forming a cloak.
The slightly larger red male took her by the hand and pulled her to the cliff, she had to dig her toes into the earth to stop from being tossed over.
"Gee’s, what’s the problem?"
" You remember what today is right?" he asked, as he folded his arms.
" Um.. It’s.. Err…" she began.
" Today’s the day Mistya goes before the elders.." he said softly.
" Today?! Oh gee’s.. I forgot! Lets go!" With that she jumped off the edge of the cliff, opening her wings to catch the updraft, she glided towards the village, her rookery brother soon joining her, gliding back to the village in hopes they reach the meeting before it started.
They entered the building just as the oldest Dreck calmed the room, and began the meeting. The room came to a silent tone, as the Dreck’s took a seat. This was the normal monthly meeting to discuss all that needed to be normally discussed. But no one hardly came to those, but today was different, it was all through the village that Mistya was going to ask the Elders to do something that everyone feared, but yet, always wanted to see.
After about a half hour of normal stuff not one of the Dreck’s cared to hear the eldest Dreck asked for Mistya to come up to the speaking stand.
Mistya, a very deep blue, almost a purple female Dreckard stepped forward and re-adjusted her wings, so that they folded carefully behind her back. As always, she wore her mother’s amulet, which is very rare for a Dreckard to have anything from their mother. Since no one is ever told who there parent is, because it’s hard to tell, since, A) you are born in a rookery, and B) since you take on different assets from parents, and scale color doesn’t help. But Mistya was a very non-traditional Derek as one could be, thus she was brought here today to give her speech.
She cleared her throat as she pulled the black dress straps over her shoulders. And adjusted her papers, as she smiled at the elders. " Um.. Thank you for your time.., just ..Give me a moment please." she said as politely as she could. The elders nodded, and she looked at her papers, then set them down neatly. She always was a neat freak, and she was about to introduce chaos into the clan.
" You know, I’m not going to give this speech, because it’s not needed, simply it’s this… I want the portal open" she said " Matter-of-factly". As one would think, the building was in a up-roar from the Dreck’s as the they talked over the matter to one another, thus causing the elders to lets out a roar of power. As the floor came to a quite tone once again, the eldest members said simply.
" No"
" But… we have to, you know as well as I that this system cant keep us alive much longer, even with the lower birth rate law, we can’t survive here, I ask that the portal to the net be open once again for a small team to find a new system, and then transfer a few Dreck’s there to populate.. I mean. Where were a people of millions, now.. We are but a few hundred in number. You can’t let what happen a…"
"Enough… the portal was closed for good reasons, and we all know about them, and the Web was sealed, end of story" said Calen, the eldest female on the council.
" You only fear the Humans, a myth that no one of you’re knowledge can believe, I mean.. Come on.. "Users"? An old sprite belief and we are to hide from this? It’s been over a hundred years since "they" came, if it be true."
" And you figure the time shift that happen over a hundred years ago was natural? You are using ‘years’ my dear, and not hours…"
Here Mistya was caught, the time shift had total caused havoc with Dreckard life spans, and before the web and net was sealed, they had received information it was done by ‘User’s’
"Could have been, but without new technology, I can’t tell, I want the portal to be open, I mean, I doubt that even if there is a ‘User’ they cant find us in a hour…"
" You don’t believe in them?" asked another elder, leaving the same two quite.
" Believe in something that created us all, drop’s games on sprites, and has finally entered a world they created after all this time.. No.. I put more faith in our God’s then a sprite god. And besides… we were once known for our ways, our power… our good business ways.. Now.. I don’t think anyone knows who we are!"
A Data storm knocked around the people on the deck of the ship classified as the U.M.M.S " Fantasy ". Although a Web classes ship, it was barely the size of most personal transports, but was given a Web class armor, weapons, and engines. Due to under funding from the governments, one would hardly believe it would be one of the few remaining United Metaverse Military Ships still in service. But yet here it was, scanning and learning more about this desolate wasteland known as the Web.
"Boy, Join the U.M.M.S and see the Metaverse! Never said anything about scanning Data storms and sailing in this…hell.. What is this?" Asked the man at the helm, of the ship.
" Sprite hell, but we got to use the little funding someway, that’s why they send us here, although you think it would be something better then looking for this old spite tale" replied the woman sitting at the scanner workstation.
" And what would that be again Tonya?" asked Greg.
" Dreckard, a race of Anthro’s, It’s not the real mission, but can’t help but look. I mean, you seen the specs on these suckers.. Make most Anthro’s look like pussy cats!" she smiled and turned back to her station.
" You got specs?"
"Yes, in the ships Data base under secondary mission" she replied, not looking up from her screen.
Greg figured Tonya was into this for being the one to discover this race, but in the time he knew her she never seem to be the one to really want to do anything more then what the mission called for. But if it was in the mission profile to find these things, why not do so? Greg checked the course in the computer and make sure it was correct.
"In the secondary mission file?" he asked
"Uh-huh" came the only reply from the woman.
Soon came up a wire frame image of what a Dreckard looked like. It was over a hundred years old, from the last time a sprite had seen one. The image gave way to data, such as height, weight and so forth.
"Yeah right, a nine foot, walking, talking, Dragon lives in the Metaverse, I’ll believe it when I see it!"
" So? Are they going to open the portal?" Asked the year younger and less patient white-scaled Dreckard know as Kaka. As she walked close to Mistya and Scar.
" Don’t see me jumping for joy do you? Strong headed old Scale bags, wouldn’t know if their own wings fell off" exclaimed Mistya as she kicked a rock as they walked.
Scar the oldest, somewhat wisest at times, and always the toughest of the group had to add his two cents to the conversation. "Well, What do you expect, I mean, you really think they are going to listen to you? I mean, after last year…err.. I mean.." Toughest, but not always the smartest.
Mistya and Kaka stopped, Kaka was awaiting for Mistya to smack him or something. It didn’t happen. Didn’t have to, Mistya took a sharp left into an ally which was the quickest way home.
" Most people have tried to forget her accident last year, but she hasn’t, why do you have to make her remember?" asked his younger rookery sister.
Scar raised a hand to interject, but Kaka walked off. " Men, cant live with them, cant kill them all.. Few things they are good for.." she said to herself, but Scar couldn’t hear the rest, since she was well out of his hearing range when he snapped back into reality. Sighing to himself he noticed a small lizard looking up at him from a barrel.
" What are you look at!" He mummers and kick’s the barrel, shattering it into a few hundred pieces. Although it felt good for him to destroy something, that wasn’t going to help him any. He looked up at the sun, taking in the time, and sighed again.
" Ether I go apologize to the girls, or I go find something to break.." he thought to himself. He didn’t own anything her could break, and he figured after what happen last time at the training grounds it would not be a good idea to go back so soon, he had only one option left. " I gotta get some new friends…." He thought to himself once again, and headed off to tell Mistya he was sorry.
The always present humming of Mistya’s workshop was only over powered by her cursing. Although the smartest in the Village, she had a limited vocabulary when it came to expressing her anger towards a piece of metal and wires.
" Damn it! What do you want Scar?" came the voice from under large round object that was being held up in the middle of the room by a winch. She must have smelled him as he entered, and was finishing her cussing at the machine only long enough to address him.
"Wanted to say I was sorry." He said as he picked up a piece of discarded copper pipe and began to bend it in his hands for fun, and to distract him while he waited for a reply.
" Kaka didn’t lash into you much to make you want to say you were sorry.." she poked her head out to pick up the suturing iron, when she notice him playing with the pipe. " And unbend that, I need it" She slide back under the hunk of metal.
Scar figured to do as she said. He didn’t need her to do to him what she did when they were young, give him another mark, which gave him his namesake.
" No, she didn’t, I came here under my own will, I’m sorry Mistya." he said softly, as he re-bent the pipe to more or less it’s true form.
" You know I can’t stay made at you for long, so I accept you’re apology"
"Why can’t you stay me at me for long? Never stops anyone else.."
"Simple." She slides out from under the machine. " Who else am I going to find who is going to help me move this thing?" she grins at him.
Scar folds his arms and shakes his head. " Yeah, I’m going to get a new set of friends."
Three days later, The lower Valley was now a testing site. Mistya and Scar had lugged the machine down here to test it, Scar still didn’t know what it was, but he had a feeling it was going to get him in to lots of trouble.
" So what’s this thing to anyway?" he asked, as he folded his wings around himself, his tail now lay in front of his feet.
" Oh.. It um.. Well.. it uses system energy to make a type three rupture of the system code, then taps into it, setting the code to be rearrange into a transport line, which in turn takes a object of any mass to a location within it’s power range." She said she slide off the round object and picked up the out dated keyboard.
" So it’s a portal Generator.." said Scar, this made Mistya looked at him in a suppressing manner.
" How did you know that?"
" Unlike certain…" His voices raised as he tilted his head to look at the bushes behind the machine." Rookery siblings, I passed Energy transference!"
Mistya looked to where he was looking to see a white Dreckard stand from her crouch and stare at them.
" So as you can see, I’m not completely stupid."
If Kaka hadn’t been hiding then maybe she would have come back, but she knew if she had one, that he would go off on her spying on them, He most likely would.
Mistya started the machine just as the youngest joined them in the clearing. As the two began to bicker at one another, a tear formed, well more like exploded in front of them, into existence. Mistya quickly began typing into the keyboard. And soon, the tear formed into a round sphere. Inside of it was an awesome sight, every color one could think of was twisting and turning inside it, she had done it, they were all looking at something the Elders would never want them to see, they were looking at the Web.
A Beeping let the crew of the " Fantasy " know that something was a mist. Tonya tapped her screen, it was flashing data faster then she could read it.
" What’s going on Tonya?" Asked Greg as now he attention was turned from the computer poker game to Tonya’s beeping workstation.
" Set a course for … 152.155.4 mark 6. Full power!"
The ship’s engines glowed bright blue as it turned from its course sharply, the new course was laid in. It flew by a heard of Class M web creatures, a group that they had been watching for the last few days, sending them scattering.
Twenty minutes later, they stopped in front of a small open portal, it seem to be struggling to keep itself open.
" Greg, you scanning what I’m scanning?" asked Tonya excitedly.
" If you mean that portal with an unknown Web Address, that would be it… this makes no sense, the government made sure all System were cut off from the Web, other then the Supercomputer. This is not them, it’s…unknown." Exclaimed a surprised Greg.
" Lock in its address, and it’s location. We reporting this." Said Tonya in a voice of command.
" You want to report this?"
" Yes, we have to, and besides I want to credit for find it!" she said with a happy tone in her voice.
Greg was a little hesitant about do what he was asked to do, but he did it anyway.
" U.M.M.S. Fantasy to head command, this is the Cruiser U.M.M.S. Fantasy, Please respond." Said Greg into their Communication system. A picture appeared in the Vid-screen then a live image of the woman sitting at her desk.
" This is Commander Ellen Virgules, go ahead Fantasy." She replied. The woman was about thirty years of
Age, her green/blue skin reflected back the light of her screen. Her yellow hair was tied back into a bun.
" Um, well, take a look yourself." He said, and sent the data. A few moments later she looked at the data on her side of the web.
" Slightly distorted from web interference, but is this legit?" she asked the data surprised her.
" As real as I am Sir. That there is a real portal, it’s open right now, but it’s slowly being closed. We have its address locked into our system. Shall we go in?" asked Tonya, trying to keep her excitement to a limit.
" No, I’m going to send in some troop’s stay you position and want for them to arrive, high command, out." The screen went black, Greg looked to Tonya
" How come I got the Feeling we just bent over and are going to get it.." he began when Tonya cut in.
" Don’t even say what I think you are going to say…or else"
The portal, a lot larger then it should have been, snapped shut, leaving only a crackle of energy in the air. The three Dreck’s looked at one another.
" Think anyone noticed?" said Kaka innocently.
The sudden rumble of the ground, and the scent of many a Dreck’s was a good induction that they had. The three looked to their right and saw most of the council, and a lot of the Dreckard guards standing there, not pleased at all. The machine kept humming, this made the oldest Dreckard looked to his personal guard. A well know person in the Village known as Deeke, a female Dreckard what had become a figure head in the village. She knew what to do, even if somewhere insider her body, maybe below her two hearts, she wanted to see the portal open again, but she had to follow order’s.
Removing one of the few types of weapons the Dreck’s has made in years past from her shoulder, a long rifle she aimed it at the large sphere.
"NO!" cried Mistya and steeped in front of the machine, to block it from being shot.
" We can leave! This is what we need to re-build are kind! I saw the web! How can you destroy something that could save our very lives!" shouted the young female to the others, all ten of them.
" Mistya, you have already broken many rules, and so far I will see to it you will not be punished if you move right now!" said the eldest of the council, the lead woman of the Dreck’s, Miya.
" I can’t" replied Mistya.
" The I have no choice but.."
" No, I evoke my right to take power over this matter, I take blame for this machine’s place here today, punish me, not Mistya" said Scar.
Now Deeke couldn’t do anything now, if she fired, she would have committed a violation to a high-ranking officer in her clan. For those who didn’t know, Scar has, since birth, been pretty much leader of the Dreck's in any matter of combat, and thus giving him a place in the Village that basically gives him the rights of any council member. But Scar has been one to follow orders, now he was breaking them, but for what reason?
" Now Scar, I don’t think…" began the council member.
" That’s right, you don’t think… now.. I take punishment for the machine, but I say, I stay’s intact." Said Scar simply.
Scar was not stepping way out of line, even for him.
" Fine then…"
Scar awoke to find himself inside a dark room, the feeling of the cold stone floor, and the small light that came through the small window on the solid metal door told him one thing, he was in the caves. The caves is where Dreck’s put there…err.. Prisoners. As Scar rubbed his head, he could hardly remember how he had gotten here. Maybe he didn’t want to remember.
" Well, you ‘re up…" came a voice he knew, and trusted.
Scar used his sense of smell and hearing to tell whom it was, but he knew right away.
" So where the little one Mistya?"
" She was not in trouble, be we are I figured you would want to know the status of the guards you fought with." She said with a slight chuckle, something she hardly ever did, laugh.
" Alright, lets hear…Ah!" cried out Scar as his side burned with pain.
" Oh yeah, they shot you.." she said between giggles.
" Gee.. Thanks a lot for telling me…"
" Sorry.. Here.. Let me help…" she said, and moved on all fours over to him, and helped him up.
" Oh yeah…Scar…"
"What?"
" They shot the machine too…"
" Prime"
" This is Captain James McCoy of the U.M.M.S Battle Ship Oblivion, hailing U.M.M.S. Explorer Class Fantasy, please respond." Said a mans voice over the Com.
" Battle Ship ‘Oblivion’? Who the hell names these things?" asked Greg to Tonya.
" Hell if I know…" replied Tonya as she tapped the consoled. " U.M.M.S. Oblivion this is Commander Tonya McNeil of the U.M.M.S. Fantasy."
" We believe you have the Web Address codes, please transmit them now.." Replied the harsh voice.
" No friendly chat? And I thought it was standard when leaders met." Said Tonya, very sarcastically.
" No listen here Sprite, I ain’t about to waste time with your games, give me the code now, or else I’ll have high command bust you ass down to private so fast…" he began when he was cut of by Tonya turning of the Com.
" Well, figures they would have a raciest somewhere in the U.M.M.S." said Greg as he began to transmit the Web address, and soon the felt the larger ships fly overhead.
" I hope the Dreckard’s slag him…" said Tonya through her face of anger.
Two Dreck's, walked to the cliff that over looked the valley, where not a few hours ago, The portal had open. The male, a black Dreckard who’s white hair was tied back was trying to write down his report on the pad, but the Female, his mate, had other idea’s, her tail was wrapping it’s way around his leg. But before he could reply, a boom rang out, and the force from the opening portal, knocked the Dreck's to the ground.
The slight larger ship then the Fantasy, the Oblivion exited the portal, and came to a stop. A high pitched sound of a P.A. rang through the air. Which caused the Dreck's to cover the ears.
" This is the Battle Ship U.M.M.S Oblivion, All system resident’s will be captured and be brought to this Ship, You Biological and Technological ways will be added to the U.M.M.S. service’s. Resistance is futile." Boomed the voice over the P.A.
Let it not be said that the generation of Dreck’s that had not seen a ship, would not fight bravely against it.. The entire army of Dreck's flew out of the forest at high speeds. This is what they had been trained for, and now they would be tested on it. Weapons of long past open fire on the large ship. A few hit before the shields went up, this left the fighters will little hope of distance combat. The smaller turrets on the ship open fire with a hail of yellow energy. Needless to say, no matter how tough Dreckard skin is, it can’t hold out against modern weapons.
Dreckard after Dreckard fell from the sky, and new, non-trained warriors flew out of the forest and attack the ship. Some getting close enough to slash at it with there talon’s. Little affect when you are fighting metal and not a biological being.
Maybe if Scar had leaded the way, then they could have won. But thankfully, if we should even say thankfully. He was imprisoned with Mistya, but their peaceful dreams would be shattered by the pounding on the door.
" Relax! I have the key, don’t try to break down the door child." Said a voice that Scar didn’t know, as he woke up from his sleeping state.
" Huh? What’s going on?" he asked, as his eyes adjusted to the light from the now open door.
" Scar! We have been…" Kaka’s voice trailed off as she saw the sight before her.
Next to the half awake and already confused Scar, laid Mistya, sleep quietly next to him.
" It’s not what you think, So what’s going on?" he asked, as he finally got his brain running on track.
" Err.. Well.. While you two slept, we were invaded, if not for the few of us that hide in the forest, we might have all be taken…we are trying to regroup and figure out what happen and find the rest of out kind before they die!" Said a more then concern Kaka.
Scar’s mind was now in overdrive, a state it hardly reached. Scar wasn’t as dumb as an 886, but he wasn’t the smartest Dreckard to ever live. But in the case and time, he would have to get some kind of plan together, because of now, he knew he might be the only leader left.
Long ago, a man once said " Uneasy hangs the head of power" and if Scar were alive when that man said that, then maybe he would totally agree to it. As the few Dreckard’s gathered in the room, Scat dug his talons into the wood desk, carving a picture with his index talon. Scar looked up from his drawing and little pile of shaving’s as he heard his name be called.
" Well? What are we going to do? They took most of the village…" asked a blue Dreckard.
Scar had no idea what to do, he had been trained to fight, not lead a rag tag group of Dreck's against an enemy that had fled into the Web.
As if the gods had decided to send another roadblock in his path of life, a boom rang out over the village, they all knew the sound, and it was from a portal. Minute’s later what was left of the Dreck's stood in the clearing, as they watched a smaller ship exit the web, and hover over them. Many Drecks’ took a fighting stance as the rest took the children back to the rookery.
The ship slowly lowered it self so it was about ten feet of the ground, where it hummed a strange tune from it’s engines. The lights slowly began to blink in a pattern that made no sense to any of the Dreckard’s, other the Mistya.
" I say we blast the damn thing!"
"Yes! Send it back to the web!" cried out another.
" NO! Wait a moment…." Yelled Mistya as she took a few steps closer the craft. The way the lights were flashing, it was a old code, simple, yet complex to someone who didn’t have their head in books entire life. Mistya open her wings, and then folded them behind her back, as she stopped a few feet from the craft. She began to so something that looked strange to even the oldest Deckard. She began sending return signal in sign language, and waited for a reply.
" Well I’ll be damned! The thing knows sign-language!" chuckled Greg as he watched the Dreckard in his screen.
" I knew they weren’t stupid… alright.. Let’s make a good first contact…"
" So.. How we going to talk to them.. You think they now English? Asked Greg.
" One way to find out…" Said Mistya as she picked up a small metal case from under her consoled.
The bottom of the ship hissed as round hatch open, and from it came a platform that lowered, carrying Greg, with a well armed rifle, and Tonya, holding a small metal case. As the platform stopped at ground level, the one human, and one sprite stepped off, and looked up at the Female Dreckard standing before them.
" Um…hi?" asked Greg.
Mistya looked at him oddly, she didn’t know English, and spoke in Dreckardian.
" he’as, forma ceem Mistya… caresd problie?" she asked. Her voice, seem to almost roar, but it was being held back.
Greg leaned over to Tonya.
" That’s not any hatemil I know…"
" Nor do I, now lets see if this will work…" she replied as she held up the case, and opened it. Inside sat a small metal earpiece, and a small metal disk. They were silver, and had two lights on the disk. Tonya showed the Dreckard what to do, she showed how the earpiece went in, and the disk should be attached to the area where the voice box should be. She hoped that their body’s where somewhat identical.
Mistya wondered why the sprite was doing what she was, but when the sprite handed the equipment over to Mistya, she did as the sprite did. The ringing for the piece in her ear was far more amplified to the Dreckard then to say a sprite or human, and Mistya winced in pain. Scar jumped out of the crowd and to Mistya side, where he let out a roar that rumbled the ground. Greg aimed his rifle at Scar, but Tonya pushed it down.
" Whoa! Hold on! It’s just protecting it’s kin, they might have better hearing, it just needs to be adjusted to the equipment." Explained Tonya.
Mistya had now become accustomed to the ringing, and it subsided. As she fully stood, the beings to her system now noticed the full high of a Dreckard. Even Mistya seem to almost tower above Scar in size, she was almost a good 7 inches higher.
Scar was standing close to Mistya as she placed the disk over her voice box. She then looked down at the sprite. The device was not meant to hurt her, so what did it do?
" Casa, Dreckard Mistya, see’es mye you? Asked Mistya, who noticed that her voice seem to change at the last word.
" What was that?" asked Tonya
Mistya wondered how the some of the word’s coming across from the sprite were in Dreckardian.
" My name is Mistya, Who are you?" said Mistya. Tonya jumped up in excitement, and Mistya widen her eye’s, Not believing she had spoken another language.
" My name is Tonya, pleasure to met you Mistya" replied the green sprite.
It had hit Mistya like a tree, the device was a translator, never in all her life would Mistya have ever figure out a way to make such a thing, she had to know how it worked.
" You have made a translator, please show me…" to bad for people who speak English, that Dreckardian is a broken language when translated into English.
" Show what?" Asked Tonya, like wise, English to Dreckardian is not as smooth ether.
" Translator. How work?"
" You inventor?"
"Yes, not many Dreckard smart with technology."
Scar had to know what was going on, she could only understand what Mistya was saying, and it wasn’t making much sense, how could she talk to them, and not other Dreck's?
"Um, Mistya.. you mind sharing with the rest of the clan?"
Mistya was pulled from her conversation to answer Scar.
" They have made a translator, we can talk to one another now."
" Anyway you can make it so we can all hear?"
Mistya asked the sprite known as Tonya if she had more of the devices.
" No, I’m sorry, it’s kind of a prototype, but it uses a simple principal. Simple put, it would be translating rich HTML into plan text." Replied Tonya.
Mistya thought for a moment then snapped her talon figure’s,, which surprised the guest. Never would they think that would be possible. Mistya had her mind working in overdrive, and soon she, along with Scar and the two newcomers where onboard the "Fantasy".
" You must be pretty smart, I would never have thought about using the ships PA system as a translator." Exclaimed Tonya as she finished with the final programming. She crossed her fingers as she saved the program and ran it.
" Can you all understand me?" asked Mistya.
"Yes, you were right!" smirked Tonya at the fact it worked. There was little delay from when she talked till when the visitors heard her in English.
" So we can talk to them now, good, I have a few things to ask.." said Scar. Even though the computer translator, his voice was full of power, one would think he was always mad, at just the sound of his voice.
" Now Scar, we mustn’t be rude, besides I want to get a better understanding of there technology!"
" Later, right now they are a possible threat!"
"Um, We are in ear shot you know…" said Greg.
The Dreck’s looked at the Human. He was about Kaka height, maybe a little smaller, he had sandy brown/blond hair on top of a very pale white skin. He seemed to not be getting out much. He was a medium built. Nothing to dashing about him in any respect’s.
" Oh hush Greg, after all, you can’t blame them, the others got here first and made a very bad impression."
Now Tonya on the other hand, seemed to impress Mistya. For a sprite she was well educated, and Mistya could easily start to like her. The Sprite was of green skin, and blue hair which feel a little past her shoulder blades, but might have gone father if not tied up high on the back of her head into a ponytail. Unlike the uniform worn by her colleague, she had on a simple blue flight jacket, with a U.M.M.S. patch on it, along with a black shirt underneath. She wore simple blue jeans, which had holes in them.
Greg on the other hand, wore standard jumpsuit armor. The light blue/ dark blue suit was standard light armor for infinity, used under their heavier armor. This would be seem as normal light armor if not for the U.M.M.S. patch and name tag on it.
"True, But. .Still.." he mumbles.
" Alright, we trust you…" began Mistya when Scar interjected.
" Excuse me… hello! Where have you been? How can you be so sure about these people?"
Mistya just opened her wings and folded them behind her back as she had done when she first met Tonya. She crossed her arms over her chest and tilted her head towards Scar.
" I know that look, So I agree with you this time." Scar replied very quickly.
" You two married or something?" Interjected Greg.
The two Dreck's were silent for a moment before Scar laughed, which rumbled the haul of the ship.
" Me and Mistya mates? Are you crazy?" It seemed that the ships program made Dreckardian less a broken language, and more of a common way to talk.
" She gave me my name sake, so I know better then to make her mad…" Scar stopped, and thought, he returned his voice to it’s more normal, low tone. "We are friends, nothing more…" with that, he walked out of the ship the way he came, leaving only Mistya behind.
Mistya sat in her workshop, playing around with some of the stuff Tonya had given her to test out. But as Mistya tried to figure how the totally more advanced plasma converter worked, her mind couldn’t stay on her work. What Scar had said only a few hours before hand was still bouncing around in her mind. Mistya knew he was lying to the visitor’s. She could always tell when Scar lied. For one, he voice always became more comical, and two, his tail thrashes about.
She placed the power converter in a wooden box and sighed. She looked up to a picture on her desk. An old photo of her, Scar and Kaka at the festival a few years back. But there was more to the picture then one would see. In the background, was her mother. That was the day she had found her true mother, only to spend a week with her before she died.
" So, you got some new toys to play with huh?" said a young innocent voice from next to her.
Mistya dropped out of her daydream and turned her head to the voice. The young Dreckard leaned against Mistya’s work bench.
" Um, yeah.. Just a few things Kaka." She said softly and looked into the container that held other objects given to her. Kaka knows that something was on Mistya’s mind, she was never this dull when she had something new to play with.
" So what’s bothering you sister?" asked the white Dreckard
" What makes think something is bothering me?" asked the slightly older Dreckard.
" You have tell tail signs, so why don’t you drop the shield and tell me what’s on your mind, make you feel better huh."
Mistya shook her head, then lowered her head onto the workbench, resting it on her arms. One of Mistya’s signs was showing, her tail was slowly wrapping itself around the leg of the stool.
" Is it the missing Dreck's?"
" No, not really.."
"Your mother again?"
"Nope"
" You sick?"
" No"
Kaka shook her head, she was out of idea’s. She sighed and gently turned the slightly older purple Dreckard head.
"Then what?"
Mistya gently shook her head.
" I think I’m in love with Scar…"
